We are pleased to share that Big Heart Student Care celebrated its 5th year of operations as well as the opening of its 30th centre at Big Heart SCC@Zhangde on Thursday, 18 February.
Our chairperson, Ms Low Yen Ling, Minister of State for Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry and Chairperson of Mayors’ Committee & Mayor of South West District, hosted the event which was attended by the Self Help Groups’ representing Ministers; Chairman, CDAC Board of Directors: Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Ministry of Transport; Representing the Eurasians in the Cabinet: Mr S Iswaran, Minister for Communications and Information & Minister-in-charge of Trade Relations; Chairman of MENDAKI: Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Minister for Social and Family Development, Second Minister for Health.
In November 2015, the four SHGs jointly setup a joint-venture and signed a MOU with MOE to set up and operate 30 school-based SCCs that will cater to students of all races.
With the opening of two new centres in January this year, Big Heart@Xishan and Big Heart@Zhangde, Big Heart has reached our goal of operating 30 Big Heart Student Care Centres islandwide.
By collaborating closely with the school, we hope to put parents’ minds at peace by providing homely, conducive and nurturing after-school care environment.
Big Heart will continue to provide engaging and educational activities where students can develop holistically.
Most importantly, we strive to inculcate in them important values so that they may grow up to be socially responsible citizens who will contribute meaningfully to the community.
